Vikram is thrilled with the completion of his much-awaited Bheema. It has been quite some time since his last film Maja was released.

Undeterred by the yawning gap, Vikram, says, “Bheema will more than make it up. It would be a treat for my fans, an out and out action-packed entertainer. I would rate it as the best films that I have worked so far. The storyline of director Lingusamy is pulsating.”

“It is an action film shot in a stylish manner. Underworld is just a part of the story. It is a mix of action, romance and sentiments. Lingusamy deserves unstinted praise for his hard work. It is a different film and I had to do rigorous workouts for over six hours everyday to do justice to the role”, he says.

Lingusamy, whose last venture Sandai Kozhi is a big success is confident of repeating the show in Bheema.

As the title suggests, the hero is brawny and brainy. He fights for a cause.

“We have shot song sequences in Switzerland, New Zealand and the famous Thirumalai Naicker Mahal in Madurai”, Says Lingusamy and adds, “The song we shot in Swiss would be a real highlight of the movie. The onscreen chemistry between Vikram and Trisha is worth a mention. With Sivaji releasing in May, plans are on to complete the post-production works of Bheema in the coming days to facilitate a release in June”.

Trisha, after Saamy, is back to play Vikram's heroine.

“The movie would be a treat for action-buffs and surely Vikram fans, who had waited for over a year would be thrilled”, adds Lingusamy.

On Sunday it has been a wonderful launch for Vikram and Shriya starrer Kanthaswamy at Devi Paradise theatre in Chennai. Most of all the big shot of Kollywood gathered under one roof for the grand launch of the Kanthaswamy movie. The theatre was colorful for the wonderful occasion and the cast and crew of Kanthaswamy were among those present.

To concur with the grand launch of the Kanthaswamy movie, the crew announced taking two villages in Madurai district to provide developmental activities. The two villages Sangampatti and Gandhi Nagar had lacked infra-structure facilities and the Kanthaswamy crew had been to the village and provided the welfare measures.

Speaking on the occasion, Susi Ganesan said, “We have chosen to launch the Kanthaswamy movie in an exclusive way and in the presence of two villages, which are accepted by us. We have provided infra structure facilities including schools, roads and drinking water facilities for them. The movie focuses on the theme of developing the rural area”.

Vikram showed up as Kanthaswamy on the stage and guaranteed that he would make every effort for creating an evenhanded society. Speaking on the movie launch, lyricist Vairamuthu expressed his admiration for such a grand launch. He said Vikram is a committed actor and the different outfits suit him well. Music composer Mani Sharma spoke about the efforts taken to churn the trailer.

The producer Kalaipuli S Thanu thanked those involved in the movie for coming up with a big launch and expressed his confidence that the movie would shape up well.

It looks like Vikram's long overdue Bheema may make it to the theatres on January 11, 2008 as Pongal release! The date has also a significance that five years back, Dhool the film that made Vikram a superstar was released on the same day!

The grapevine is abuzz that producer A.M Ratnam is in the final round of negotiations with Ayngaran International to swing the deal. Remember it was Ayngaran who released the trailer of the film, which has been appreciated by the audiences.

What really makes Bheema hot, a film which has been two years in production is the current craze for superstar biggies. Vikram is a superstar inspite of not having a release for two years. He commands a terrific opening and if Bheema is marketed like Sivaji or a Billa it stands to make big money for all concerned.

The next Tamil biggie scheduled to release is Kamal Hassan's Dasavatharam, some time in summer of 2008. So the trade is anxious and eager to have a biggie for Pongal, a very good season for Tamil films.

And what better movie than Bheema, which has a superstar, excellent hit music, awesome action, glamour, glitz and packaged slickly by a director with a proven track record for making family entertainers!

Kathaswamy crew which is shooting for the past 35 days for the movie was all set to fly to Kenya for the shooting there. They have postponed the shooting in Kenya now due to the ongoing political turmoil in Kenya.

Kandasamy stars Vikram and Sherya in the lead role and is being directed by Susi Ganesan. Raghuvaran, Vivek, Santhanam,
Vinod Raj, Y G Mahendran, Arun Mathavan, Vinayak, Alex will also be seen in supporting roles in the movie. Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, this film has music by Devisri Prasad.

The manager of the unit is currently in Kenya updating the team on the ongoing developments. The crew will continue its shooting in Chennai and will fly to Kenya only when the violence in Kenya comes to a halt.

Kandasamy has probably had the most flashy pre-shooting publicity drive in recent Kollywood history. The costumes for the stars and the support artists of the trailer itself were procured from Bangkok, Malaysia and Italy. Vikram’s father Vinothraj is to play an important role in the film Kandaswamy.
